SIDECUT World Cup FILE GUIDES including our Trigger Clamping System:

The Trigger Clamping System can be mounted left or right handed. These offer the utmost most precision and are the safest method for clamping your files and stones to your File Guide. They're more desirable because the file or stone cannot separate or lift from the guide which means you'll get the perfect angle from tip to tail.

  • WC Guides have a stainless steel anti-friction glide, are heavier, wear much better than regular guides and feel nicer in the hand.
  • All of our File Guides are made of the highest quality aluminium and machined to the strictest tolerances because accuracy is essential.
  • Guides are colour anodised and laser embossed specifying the degree of angle and won't wear from use.
  • Our guides come in 91, 92, 93, 94 and 95 degree increments which give you a side-edge bevel of 89, 88, 87, 86 and 85 degrees respectively or in other words a 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 degree side-edge angle.
  • Our suggested 'default' and the most popular side-edge bevel for all skiers and snowboarders is 92 or 2 degrees.
  • You will certainly see and feel the superior quality once you use one.

Want one tool that sharpens your edges & easily removes your sidewalls?

Try a SIDECUT World Cup FILE GUIDE with our Sidewall Adapter Kit:
    1. Cleverly designed to be two tools in one for those of you who don't want the expense of buying two separate tools to remove sidewall and sharpen your edges. Saves space in your tuning kit too!
    2. The SIDECUT ADAPTER KIT is so necessary because it's used for removing the sidewall creating the necessary clearance which allows you to sharpen the edges at your desired angle. Therefore, it must be used prior to proper side-edge sharpening whenever interference occurs. If not removed sidewalls will interfere with the file or stones ability to contact the steel edge making in impossible to sharpen.
    3. The adapter kit comes with anodized aluminum holder, stainless steel pin, carbide cutter of your choice and it's easily attachable/detachable with two screws & allen keys included.
    4. All of our File Guides are made of the highest quality aluminium and machined to the strictest tolerances because accuracy is essential.
    5. WC guides come with a stainless steel anti-friction glide plate, are heavier, wear much better than regular guides and feel nicer in the hand.
    6. Guides are colour anodised and laser embossed specifying the degree of angle and won't wear from use.
    7. Our guides come in 91, 92, 93, 94 and 95 degree increments which give you a side-edge bevel of 89, 88, 87, 86 and 85 degrees respectively or in other words a 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 degree side-edge angle.
    8. Our suggested 'default' and the most popular side-edge bevel for all skiers and snowboarders is 92 or 2 degrees.
    9. You will certainly see and feel the superior quality once you use one.
Remember to choose your Sidewall cutter. Here are some guidelines:
    1. The Round Standard cutter (gold) is typically used for 'sandwich' construction skis. They are more universal than square cutters and work well on all sidewalls and particularly for those new to removing their sidewalls.
    2. The Round Sharp cutter (grey) have a sharper edge and therefore work amazingly well on certain brands, typically harder sidewalls found on competitive skis & boards.
    3. The Square cutter is typically used for 'cap' construction skis however it also works well on all types of skis and boards especially if you're naturally skilled with your hands.
*Spare cutters as well as stainless steel shafts can be purchased separately for those who have different types of ski and boards and require different cutters.*

Tip: adding a Trigger Clamping System to this tool is the most accurate and safest way to clamp your stone and files to your File Guide and can be mounted left or right-handed.

Want one simple & easy to use tool that works to keep your edges ultra sharp?
Try SIDECUT Diamond Guides. They're the smartest new innovation in side-edge sharpening technology!

  • They're so clever because you can file with your File Guide, set it on the bench and then work with your Diamond Guide to polish your edges.
  • Dedicate your Diamond Guides to polishing & your File Guides to filing which makes for a much cleaner system.
  • This is true because you will typically use SIDECUT edge oil or your preferred lubricant on your diamond stones which means there's no need to clean the File Guide each time you exchange the file for your diamond stone.
  • When you're not constantly exchanging the file for the diamond stone on one particular File Guide you'll see how much time you save!
  • Diamond Guides are small enough to carry in your pocket or pack and sharpen between runs on those really hard-packed days.
  • If you're new to tuning or want to teach younger children how to maintain their edges then this is the safest tool to learn without risking the potential damage done by a novice using a file on a File Guide.
  • Our WC Diamond Guides are precision machined aluminium and have a stainless steel anti-friction glide plate and steel thumb knob specifically designed to hold SIDECUT Diamond Discs.
  • Diamond Guides are machined to exactly the same tolerances as our File Guides and are colour anodized to match, so you won't pick up the wrong one.
  • Come in 92,93 and 94 degrees.

  • Remember to choose your Diamond Disc(s) which come in 120, 200, 400, 600 or 1000 grits to remove burrs, sharpen and polish - sold separately.

  • The benefits of Diamond Discs compared to traditional rectangular stones is simple: they last longer because you can easily spin the disc, thereby using every bit of the Diamond surface. Whereas with a rectangular stone you'll get a continual linear wear area that can't be reached on the File Guide.

  • Tip: It's best to have at least two Diamond Discs - 1 x 120 or 200grit and 1 x your choice of 400, 600 or 1000 grit. If you're using this as a stand alone edge tuner and choosing only one disc, we recommend a 400 grit disc.

This a precision machined tool with aluminium guide, stainless steel anti-friction glide plate, tool holder, stainless steel shaft, carbide cutter of your choice, roller bearing stabilizer and allen key(s) to adjust cutter as needed.

This our our most advanced Sidewall Removal Tool. This is thanks to our Stabilization system that rolls perfectly steady down the side-edge so you can confidently and precisely remove the desired amount of sidewall and prevent any chatter marks.

A necessary tool used for the removal of the sidewalls on any ski or board. Removing the sidewall creates clearance allowing the file to sharpen the edges at your desired angle and therefore must be used prior to side-edge sharpening whenever interference occurs. If not removed sidewalls will interfere with the file or stones ability to contact the steel making it impossible sharpen your edges.

  • The Round Standard cutter (gold) is typically used for 'sandwich' construction skis. They are more universal than square cutters and work well on all skis and particularly for those new to removing their sidewalls.
  • The Round Sharp cutter (grey) have a sharp edge and therefore work amazingly well on certain brands of skis, typically harder sidewalls found typically on competitive skis.
  • The Square cutter is typically used for 'cap' construction skis however it also works well on all types of skis and boards especially for those who are more naturally skilled with their hands.

This WC model comes with a stainless steel plate for added tool longevity and better anti-friction gliding characteristics on the base. This is our most popular version for good reason.

The soft steel roto brush is typically used as your first brush before waxing for optimal base cleaning, renewal and de-oxidization of your base. Also, commonly used as your first brush after waxing to re-open the base structure. Soft steel roto brushes are also essential to help extract tiny hairs in the base that are commonly left behind after a ski or board has been ground by a machine in a shop. These small hairs cause drag and severely reduce the glide of your bases. Soft Steel rotos are our preference for this purpose.

Roto brushes are an extremely efficient and effective way for base preparation, cleaning, wax removal and polishing of the base resulting in the ultimate gliding characteristics of your skis or board. It is recommended to use our Sidecut handle, axle and clear protective shield however our brushes may work with your existing hexagonal style handle shaft. Confirm your existing shaft length.

150mm length
12.5mm length bristles.

150mm length best used for: Race, All-Mountain, Powder skis and Snowboards.

SIDECUT Standard FILE GUIDES include our Trigger Clamping System.
The Trigger Clamping System can be mounted left or right handed. These offer the utmost most precision and are the safest method for clamping your files and stones to your File Guide. They're more desirable because the file or stone cannot separate or lift from the guide which means you'll get the perfect angle from tip to tail.

  • Standard Guides DO NOT come with a stainless steel anti-friction glide plate.
  • Download our FREE 'SIDECUT Tuning Degree Guidelines' PDF under the Tuning Instructions tab.

We've designed our File Guides with 2 centre holes to attach a 'Sidewall Remover Kit' which gives you the option to turn your File Guide into a Sidewall Removal Tool!

SIDECUT Standard FILE GUIDES:

  • Standard Guides DO NOT have a stainless steel anti-friction glide plate.

Tip: Our 'trigger clamping system' is recommended for the most accurate and secure method to clamp all Files and Diamond Stones to your SIDECUT File Guide.

Want one tool that sharpens your edges & easily removes your sidewalls?

Try a SIDECUT Standard File Guide with our Sidewall Adapter Kit:
    5. Standard guides come WITHOUT a stainless steel anti-friction glide plate.

  • Our Standard Diamond Guides are precision machined aluminium and DO NOT include our steel anti-friction glide plate.
  • Come with steel thumb knob specifically designed to hold SIDECUT Diamond Discs.

Tip: It's best to have at least two Diamond Discs - 1 x 120 or 200grit and 1 x your choice of 400, 600 or 1000 grit. If you're using this as a stand alone edge tuner and choosing only one disc, we recommend a 400 grit disc.

SIDECUT Sidewall Removal Kits or Adapter Kits are designed to quickly and easily convert any SIDECUT File Guide into a sidewall remover. Comes with aluminium block, stainless steel shaft, your choice of carbide cutter, allen keys & mounting screws.

Commonly used if you're travelling a lot and don't want the bulk of another tool in your kit. They also save money and used typically by those removing their sidewalls less frequently.

This is an essential tool used for the removal of the sidewalls on any ski or board. Removing the sidewall allows the file or diamond stone to sharpen at your desired angle and therefore must be used prior to side-edge sharpening. If your sidewall is not removed prior to side-edge tuning it will interfere with the file or stones ability to sharpen the edges.

Choosing your cutter:
  • The Round Standard cutter (gold) is typically used for 'sandwich' construction skis or snowboards. They are more universal than square cutters, easier to adjust and work well across the largest range of skis and boards. Recommended for those new to removing their sidewalls.
  • The Round Sharp cutter (grey) have a sharper edge than our standard cutter and therefore work amazingly well on certain brands of skis, typically harder sidewalls found typically on competitive skis and snowboards.
  • Square cutters are typically used for 'cap' construction skis however work well on all types skis/boards especially for those who are more naturally skilled with their hands. Recommended for those who desire their sidewalls to be removed a specific angle. Most versatile of all the cutters.

Square and Round cutters as well as stainless steel shafts can be purchased separately for those who desire both round and square cutters. All of which are interchangeable on all of our tools.

Used for: Race, Carving, All-Mountain, Powder skis and Snowboards.

    1. Professional Roto handle with sealed bearings.
    2. Hexagonal stainless steel drive shaft.
    3. Clear see-through protection/safety cover so you can see what you're doing.
    4. Brass Roto Brush - 11mm length bristles. Used as your first brush before waxing for optimal base cleaning and revitalisation of your base structure. Also, commonly used as your first brush after waxing to re-open the base structure. Brass roto brushes are also essential to help extract tiny hairs in the base that are commonly left behind after a ski or board has been ground by a machine in a shop. These small hairs cause drag and severely reduce the glide of your bases.
    5. Horsehair Roto Brush - 7mm length bristles. Used for base brushing. Generally used as your first brush for removing wax and also recommended to use after you've used a brass roto brush for cleaning the base. It helps in further extracting of any micro-fibres or tiny hairs left behind in the base structure. It's very important to remove these hairs to reduce friction and optimize glide.
    6. Nylon Roto Brush - 7mm length bristles. Typically the last brush used for removing wax and polishing the base. Nylon brushes are recommended exclusively by Nanox Wax for the final finishing step when using all Nanox Training, CFX and Supernano waxes.

This system is an extremely efficient and professional way for base preparation, cleaning, wax removal, polishing and finishing of the base resulting in the ultimate gliding characteristics of your skis or board.
A major benefit our tool has is that the axle is easily removable and interchangeable with longer axles. Axle easily snaps in and out making brush changes very quick. Roto brushes in this kit are all 150mm in length.

Best used for: Race skis, All-mountain skis, Powder skis and Snowboards.

Some prefer thinner 3mm ski or snowboard wax scrapers because they flex and find them easier to remove wax especially from the tips and tails. It's a personal preference however be cautious when using thinner scrapers to not over flex them when scraping which can in turn remove base material causing the base to become concave. SIDECUT scrapers won't knick or scratch your base because all sides are machined perfectly smooth.

Ever get overwhelmed with the complexity and expense of waxing systems?

No need to with Nanox all-temperature, all-snow condition wax. Here are several reasons skiers & snowboarders use it:

    1. With Nanox you only need ONE wax for all snow conditions & temperatures.
    2. With Nanox you cannot choose the wrong wax no matter the day or race.
    3. Nanox has the easiest and fastest application of any waxing system.
    4. Nanox has the highest & unequalled gliding properties of any wax and is up to 5% faster.
    5. It stays in your base longer than other waxes and is extremely resistant to abrasion.
    6. It's non-toxic. Nanox waxes DO NOT contain any Fluorocarbons.
    7. Saves you money because you're buying only 1 wax not several temperature ranges.
    8. 300 grams will wax 30-35 pairs of adult skis and 40-45 pairs of junior length skis and 25-30 boards.

Nanox training wax is used for the conditioning & preparation of all bases.

For Application:
Follow these steps:

    1. Clean the base with your preferred method (see options in video below).
    2. Drip wax onto base and iron in at approximately 130-140ºC/266-284ºF (will vary depending on iron).
    3. Remove the wax while it is still lukewarm (after approximately 2 minutes) with a sharp SIDECUT 3mm or 5mm scraper.
    4. Brush immediately with the SIDECUT nylon oval brush only.
    5. Re-brush/polish after the base has completely cooled and bring to a high sheen finish.

Important to Know:

    1. With ALL NANOX products, leaving the waxes on longer does NOT make the skis faster. We recognise these simple waxing protocols may not be what you're used to, however once you realise that you are faster with NANOX you'll appreciate the system.
    2. To guarantee optimal performance with NANOX, it is required that the structure of the base conforms to the snow conditions and that the ski has been ground absolutely flat and fiber-free.
    3. With constant use Nanox not only protects the base by lasting longer but also creates changes to the base at the molecular level - known as “higher ground speed”. Use it exclusively and see the difference.

Used by: Ski racers, Free-riders, Snowboarders and X-Country skiers.

    3. Brush/polish out the wax almost immediately with a SIDECUT nylon brush.

Want to get into tuning your own skis or snowboards but don't know where to start?

The SIDECUT Intro Tuning Kit was designed for those who need the key essential tools to coincide with our Advanced how-to-tune 4 Step video series. This kit will allow you to follow the steps but remember you'll still need some waxing tools, which are sold separatley.

Save yourself money and time by trusting us to decide what the key tools you need are. In this kit you will receive:

    1. WC File Guide with Trigger Clamp - choose between 91,92,93,94 or 95 degrees (these degrees are synonymous to 89,88,87,86 and 85 degrees respectively). Used for sharpening your side-edges. 92 degree Guides are without a doubt the most common angle used.
    2. WC File - comes with the most commonly used Cut 14 file which is best for daily use on side-edges with your File Guide. Short files work better for side-edge sharpening because they give an accurate bevel.
    3. WC Diamond Guides - choose between 92, 93 or 94 degrees only. Be sure your Diamond Guides angle matches your File Guide. Why 3? Because it save you time. For example, you can use one for burr removal, one for sharpening and one for polishing. Many of our customers have suggested this we offer this!
    4. Diamond Discs - choose between a 120, 200, 400, 600 and 1000 grits. Mount on your Diamond Guides for the side-edge sharpening & polishing. Diamond Discs work better on side-edges since all of the diamond can be used by simply spinning the disc.
    5. Base-Edge Guides - choose between 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 degree increments. Used to polish the base-edges of your skis or boards.
    6. Base-Edge File - comes with a 150mm longer base-edge Cut 16 File which is a little finer cut and used for setting the angle of the base-edges.
    7. File Brush- used to clean and increase the longevity of all your files.
    8. Diamond Stones - choose between a 200, 400, 600 and 1000 grits. 110mm x 25mm or 4.4"x 1" in length and designed to fit perfectly in your Base Edge Guides. With replaceable diamond sheets so you only need to buy the back plate once!
    9. Gummi Stone - is what you'll use for the final deburring of your edges and polishing the stainless steel glide plates on your Guides should they get scratched. Green.
    10. WC Sidewall Remover with Stablizer - this is our best Sidewall Tool because stability is important when you're learning to remove your sidewalls. Creates clean and smooth sidewalls. Choose between: round standard, sharp-round or square carbide cutter. Removing sidewall is mandatory to achieve the exact bevel you desire. This is our best Sidewall Tool because stability is important when you're learning to remove your sidewalls.

The SIDECUT Green Gummy stone is used after side-edge filing and/or polishing with Diamond Stones to remove the microscopic burr created from filing. Use along the 'point' of the edge. Choosing between the Green and Blue Gummy Stone is personal preference. The Green Gummi is slightly softer and typically better for light removal of the micro burr.

Also great to carry in your pocket when your edges feel too grippy. Simply make 1-2 light passes down the edge and you'll notice the difference. A quick fix that can turn a frustrating day in the mountains into a joyful one. Saves you until you can get back to the tuning bench.

    5. It stays in your base longer than any other wax and is extremely resistant to abrasion even on the most aggressive snow.

Nanox Extra-Hard Training Wax is used exactly the same way as Nanox regular Training Wax and can also be used for the conditioning & preparation of your bases.  It is not temperature dependant and is specifically used when the snow is extremely hard and/or abrasive.  Extremely hard snow conditions often found in glaciers or very cold temperatures can cause irreparable damage by 'burning' your bases due to increased friction.  Use Nanox's Extra-Hard formula for these extreme conditions to protect your bases by keeping the wax in the base longer.  You'll see a visible differance in durability.

For Application:
Follow these steps:

    1. Clean the base with your preferred method (see options in video below).
    2. Drip wax onto base and iron in at approximately 150-160ºC/302-320ºF (will vary depending on iron).

With ALL NANOX products, leaving the waxes on longer does NOT make the skis faster. We recognise these simple waxing protocols may not be what you're used to, however once you realise that you are faster with NANOX you'll appreciate the system.

    1. To guarantee optimal performance with NANOX, it is required that the structure of the base conforms to the snow conditions and that the ski has been ground absolutely flat and fiber-free.
    2. With constant use Nanox not only protects the base by lasting longer but also creates changes to the base at the molecular level - known as “higher ground speed”. Use it exclusively and see the difference.
    3. Used by: Ski racers, Free-riders, Snowboarders and X-Country skiers.

SIDECUT Diamond Discs are the slickest new innovation in diamond stone technology!

They make sharpening the side-edges of your skis and boards faster & more precise than ever before. We even recommend them over traditional rectangular stones because you can simply spin the disc as needed, utilising all of diamond material. On a traditional rectangular stone a linear wear pattern is created, wearing out quicker and much of the diamond material is unusable.

Diamond Discs were designed to fit on our SIDECUT Diamond Guides but can also work on SIDECUT File Guides when used with our Trigger Clamping System. Made of high-grade aluminum they are precision machined flat so you can achieve the most accurate side-edge bevel. Beautifully anodized in attractive colours and laser-embossed corresponding to their grit, each disc comes in its own protective storage container. And best of all - the diamond material can be replaced when worn out! That's right when the self-adhesive disc wears out simply peel it off and replace it which means you save money by keeping the backing disc forever.

For best results use with SIDECUT polishing oil on all 400, 600 and 1000 grit discs. Oil improves sharpening and polishing time, the speed of the edges and greatly improves the longevity of all your Diamond Stones because it's also used to clean them. See Step 3 of our 'How-To' Advanced tuning video series to learn more.

To help you choose which discs you need:

    1. 120 & 200 grits are used for sharpening, removing burrs and for hardened edges. Great for getting your edges back to the angle your desire quickly without using a file.

    4. 1000 grit is used when you desire an extra high polish and are concerned about hundredths of a second or really care about how the edges perform on the hardest snow surfaces.

Tip: It's best to have at least two Diamond Discs - 1 x 120 or 200grit and 1 x your choice of 400, 600 or 1000 grit.

The brass roto brush is typically used as your first brush before waxing for optimal base cleaning, renewal and revitalization of your base.

Roto brushes are an extremely efficient and effective way for base preparation, cleaning, wax removal and polishing of the base resulting in the ultimate gliding characteristics of your skis or board. Also, commonly used as your first brush after waxing to re-open the base structure and fine texturing. Note: it's best to have a separate brass brush if you wish to do this since the other will contain a lot dirt from cleaning. Brass brushes are also essential to help extract tiny hairs in the base that are commonly left behind after a ski or board has been ground by a machine in a shop. These small hairs cause drag and severely reduce the glide of your bases. Sidecut brass brushes have brass bristles on the inside and a row of softer nylon bristles around the outer edge used "as sweepers" for wax/dirt particles.

SIDECUT Base Bevel Guides are used to create a 0.5, 0.7 or 1.0 base-edge bevel on you skis or snowboards - the easy way! Ever use base bevel tools that simply feel like nothing is happening? Not with these.
Typically, all brand new skis & boards need to be prepared first before being used, even if they are new from the factory.

Have your skis or boards ever felt 'catchy' or like they won't 'skid or steer' in certain snow conditions? This in most cases is due to inadequate base-edge bevel. This can be very frustrating, dangerous and impair skill development and simply make your riding experience very poor.

Here are some tips when choosing between 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 degree guides:
0.5 - Used on all skis/boards and all slalom skis. For advanced to expert racers who pure carve the majority of their turns and like aggressive and responsive turn intiation and grip.

0.7 - Used when a 0.5 degree base bevel is a little 'too aggressive' or 'too catchy'. Used typically on younger skiers under 14 and most expert All-Mountain skiers and boarders. You may also use on the first 10-20 cm of skis for easier turn initiation while 0.5 degrees is used for the remainder of the edge to the tail.

1.0 - Used for SG/DH skis, for younger ski racers, free-ride and terrain park style skiers. For those who want easier steering and turn initiation and don't like that catchy feeling. As above, you may also use the 1.0 degree guide on the first 10-20 cm of skis for easier turn initiation and the remainder on 0.5 or 0.7 degrees. Also used frequently by ski teachers working with lower end clients where steering skills are crucial, freeriders, and for the park and pipe. Recreational skiers commonly prefer 1.0 for all around use because it allows the skis to steer easier.

As you can see all 3 are utilized from the beginner to expert and therefore your decision is based on your own personal preference, skill level, strength, ski/board type & snow conditions. Always start with 0.5, test it, if it's too aggressive move up to 0.7 or a 1.0 degree guide. Remember you can easily add more base-edge angle but you can't go from a 1.0 degree bevel back to a 0.5 degree bevel without grinding your skis/board flat again.

Note: All SIDECUT Diamond Stones, Ceramic Stones and Hard Stones have been designed to fit in our Base Bevel Guides.

Used For: Race, All-Mountain, Free-ride, Powder skis and Snowboards.

  • This is a beautifully precision engineered Base-Edge Bevel Meter accurate to 0.01 degrees.
  • It's used to measure the amount of base-edge bevel or angle you have on your skis or snowboards.
  • Have you ever been skeptical as to what base-edge degree the shop actually put on your base edge? This tool is the easiest and most accurate way for you to check base bevel, whether you're doing it yourself or validating the work done by a machine. You'll be amazed how often it's not what you thought!
  • Tip: the set-up & accuracy of your base-edge bevel is related to both your strength, skill level and discipline (I.e. free-ride, SL, DH etc.). It's crucial to get this 'just right' for the individual needs of the skier, otherwise it can drastically impair skill development and ski/board performance.
  • Once you use this tool you'll appreciate the important insight into understanding how only a very small change in base-edge bevel dramatically affects how your skis feel on the snow.
  • Comes in protective box with perfectly shaped rubber foam insert making it easy to access & assemble.
  • Includes LED lamp providing backlight for perfect measurements (see video for use).
  • Easy to read digital display. I.e. 0.56 = .56 degrees of base-edge bevel. Includes battery.

Used For: Race, All-Mountain, Free-ride, Powder skis and Snowboards.
